Question by Canchito: have you been to Marrakech in the beginning of August? what was it like?
Answer by Patti
Yes a couple years ago. It was very hot and dry, like a desert, in the daytime…cooled off pretty good after 9 at night because the wind comes from the mountains. The food stalls set up in late afternoon at Djma El Fna and it is nice to eat outdoors in the evening. It’s important to bring water when going anywhere, always carried a bottle with me. Took a shower every chance I got (3 or 4 times a day) and the city water is much milder on the skin than here in the US, didn’t need lotion, which was a surprise after taking all those showers. A day-trip to Ourika Valley or Mount Toubkal is a good way to spend a day in the hottest months, very cool at both of those places, seemed like A/C.
