Entry from: Marrakech, Morocco Entry Title: “Cruising the Jardin Marjorelle, the Musee & Koubba” Entry: “I was up at 8.30am and showered and at brekky at 9am for more freaking bread and jam. We dawdled and Lee, Penny and I didn’t set off until just after 10. Out the front of the hotel there was a cab waiting and we got him to drive us to the Jardin Majorelle – a set of beautiful gardens that are owned by the Yve Saint-Laurent foundation. There were a few coaches out the front and we thought it may be a bit crowded inside but it was excellent. Lovely water features with loads of turtles, a huge cacti section and a bamboo garden. All through the paths are electric blue, bright orange and yellow pot plants that really brighten the place up. Its only a small area and we sailed through and saw everything in about 20 mins. Next we set off for the huge medina – about a 15 min walk away. We found the gate we wanted to go it at 0 Bab Doukkala and we could tell immediately that we weren’t in the tourist area – not a souq in sight! All the locals just going about their daily business, fixing motorbikes, buying bread and taking the kids to school. We finally made it to the first of 3 stops – the Musee de Marrakesh, a museum only opened about 10 years ago in an old palace. Fairly boring inside, just a few rooms
