2011 Norway Attacks: Anders Behring Breivik?s Latest News

Anders Behring Breivik, who admitted to carrying out the Oslo’s bomb blast and Utoya island’s massacre killing 76 people, instead of 92 as reported, said at the court that the Friday’s horrific twin attacks was necessary to save Norway and Western Europe from a “Muslim takeover”.

He also accused Norwegian ruling Labour Party of a “mass import of Muslims”.

According to Anders Behring Breivik’s lawyer Geir Lippestad, the blond murderer had to take drugs to keep himself awake during the shooting.

Anders Behring Breivik’s father Jens David Breivik, a former Norwegian diplomat, told he wished his son had committed suicide during his devastating rampage.

“How could he just stand there and kill so many innocent people and just seem to think that what he did was OK? He should have taken his own life too. That’s what he should have done.” the 70-year-old man spoke from his secluded home in Cournanel, southern France, where he is being protected by police from potential revenge violence.

Anders Behring Breivik, who arrived at court under heavy guard as hundreds of people and the world’s media waited outside, has been held in solitary confinement for the first four weeks without letters, newspapers or visits, except from a lawyer, in a bid to aid a police investigation into his actions.

According to lawyer Geir Lippestad, Anders Behring Breivik had two wishes that the hearing was public and he attended the court in uniform
