Why are American news shows so limited in their reporting?

Question by YahooDeana: Why are American news shows so limited in their reporting?
So far “Al Jazeera English” covers more news in one hour than CNN in a week. Why are the shows covering so little when they have such great resources to do more?

American cable networks dont report news. They show films of their reporters in the field who dont investigate events but offer superficial information and the presenters in studio focus on one news story for two weeks from every aspect and ignore everything else in the world. Then they have other reporters as guests who purport to be experts and they go round and round on one subject endlessly. It is awful. The presenters are awful as well and they have too many commercials on corporate media. I watch RT since it is a government channel and no commercials but they have great programming. I watch Al Jazeeera English for good solid straight reporting but some of their broadcasts from the U.S. have to be sanitized. I watch France 24 and NHK and DW TV but limited because I have cable not satellite.

I dont think CNN has good resources in the U.S. maybe abroad they actually do reporting of news. But America it is opinions and chatting. Their format is very bad. They dont offer full details of anything. I dont think they have professional training.
