Question by mariam: i’m planning to go to morocco with my friends in april for 4 days or 5 days, any suggestions?
we’ll be a group of 10 friends i guess, and we still don’t know whether to go to Casablanca , Tangier, Rabat or Marrakesh, please give me your suggestions. we’re 24 yrs and we luv the beach but i don’t know if the weather would be warm enough to go to a tangier, but mostly we love monuments because we’re architects, and we love to have fun… in a legal way :D:D

I would do 2 days in Tangier. Wander round Rue Mexique, the boulevarde Mohammet Cinque, and the Casbah, the architecture is stunning, Art Nouveau, Moorish , the works.Stay in the hotel El Menzah,(again, lovely architecture) You should be able to get a reduction for bulk booking of 10.
The weather has been great, lots of sun, but not quite warm enough for swimming on the beach.
However, by April it should be.
On the third morning take the train, first class from the new Tangier railway station to Rabat.(This modern architecture is very inspiring. Rabat , especially the Souk and the Masoleum is wonderful
Space, decoration and scale. Rabat is quiet and sedate after bustling Tangier.
I would give Casablanca a miss . It is an acquired taste, wonderful in its own way.but not really for first timers.
Alternatively, you could visit Meknes and Fez. The former is an architect’s paradise. You can wonder through the souks and into the medina. Th masoleum of Moulay Ismail is awe inspiring, as is the house of Jamai, the square, the Babs, etc. Fez , too, is magnificent and so different, with its 2 medinas, first university ibuilt by a donation from a woman in 9th century, its library, mosques.
I envy you discovering it all for the first time. Enjoy!
