What impresses me most(and humbles me) is that this man somehow maintained his own childlike innocence, awe and wonder and yet was never naive concerning the darker/harder aspects of life. Never cynical, snide or malicious. . .always expecting to find the best in people whom, being people, were flawed.

I could listen to this man talk forever. By all accounts, I should be snoring with his slow drawl- but he’s so sincere, interesting, and true. What a wonderful man. Dearly missed by all.

Wonder what Mr. Rogers would look like with a beard and/or mustache?

I love how, during the interview, he sometimes stops to ask the interviewer questions, ie “Do you remember such-and such?” I think later, he asks her about why she enjoys journalism. Even when the whole interview is supposed to be about him, he’s more interested in understanding other people.

The show ended 10 years before he died. You can’t deny, he brightened up many children’s mornings, he will and already is, missed.

member799: Because most of the good ones die young. It is sad fact, but it probably done so that their lessons can be forever timeless and hopefully carry on into future generations. Whether it be a saint like Fred, a pioneer in puppetry like Jim, or a master animation storyteller like Walt, these people will never be forgotten and neither will their contributions to the world.

What BAD can you say about a man like that? He’s just a good person, plain and simple. Doesn’t matter what religion you follow, Fred Rogers was just a good man. He could show kindness, caring, and compassion for anyone. We need more people like that.

Mr. Rogers is one of the most amazing human beings to have ever graced this planet. I could just sit and relax to the sound of his voice all day. He’s so nostalgic. <3

Even if there was a God, I think it was only fair that death had no prejudice. So it is only fitting to say that it was time for Mr. Rogers to end the show with grace.
